On Friday 26th April we held a Full Moon paddle up Currambene Creek. A group of over 12 die-hard SUP enthusiasts met down at the wharf at Husky at around 6.00pm for a bit of night time fun.
The group paddled down with the tide in fantastic conditions to Broachie’s private Jetty where they had a quick liquid replenish and a bit of a breather before making the journey back up to the wharf against the incoming tide.
There was only 1 casualty on the night and that was “Pirate Pete” who managed to make it around 25m off the wharf before the dreaded swirls took hold. Lucky for Pete the water temp was still quite warm and the breeze was non-existent so no hypothermia on the night.
Broachie had a nice big fire cranking which Pete took refuge next to along with a few others. Once again thanks to all that were involved, Broachie for your Jetty, awesome mate, Captain Jase for the bright idea and sorry for the short notice but sometimes ya just gotta run with it.
Keep your eyes peeled for more of these impromptu sessions as we bang our heads together for more ideas.
See you in the barrel.
