Well hello there, what a cracker of a day. This time of the year always seems to provide us with some of the most perfect weather conditions for just about every outdoor activity there is.
Today we held another one of our flat water events down at Mooney Creek Huskisson, and the day could not have been more perfect. Winds were light at around 5-10kms from WNW and the venue was absolutely picture perfect.
We had over 40 starters including kids and welcomed aboard some new members as well. Everyone seemed to be enjoying the fantastic weather so much that we only managed to get a paddle in around the rocky point at Mooney. I must say that this was an experience that left most of us gob smacked to say the least.
A pod of around 10 dolphins decided to join us and they seemed to be enjoying the best that Mother Nature had to offer as much as we were. I’m pretty sure that most of the 23 Supper’s that we’re on the water had quite a close dolphin encounter which I’m sure they will be talking about for a while yet.
We had the BBQ fired up again (this time we had some chicken kebabs as well as the usual snags) and have to say thanks to Husky Bakery for looking after the bread for us and also to Husky Butcher, your support is very much appreciated.
Captain Jason gave a clinic on the different types of boards that are out there which are designed for different aspects of our fantastic sport. He also touched briefly on the different types of fins and the variable types of fin placements. Thanks again for sharing your valuable knowledge Jase.
All in all everybody, young and old, enjoyed the glorious weather and great company, and we look forward to seeing you all next month. For a look at some of the photos from today follow this link here.
Oh, after we packed up, a handful of us went out to caves and caught a bunch of small but glassy, fun waves while the water temp still resembles that of somewhere up North. Anyway, glad you could join us today and see you on the water.
Cheers SupHerbo.
