Rego Day Wrap Up

Loren with Donna Madge’s husband accepting 1st prize.

What a day! Wind the wind blowing off the snow a very dedicated bunch of people ventured out into the cold to enjoy another super successful member’s registration / renewal day held down at the Lady Denman Museum in Huskisson.

Thank you to everyone for braving the conditions and supporting this important event once again. Our exhibitors came from as far away as Sutherland, Gerringong, Nowra and Huskisson to make this a huge success.

How fortunate were we to be able to setup on the North side of the Lady Denman complex tucked away from the cold South Westerly wind in the sun, overlooking the pond. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect location. Added 10 degrees to the temperature I’m sure.

We had a very special guest with us from Ulladulla, Fanatic Team rider, Kai Bates. Thanks a lot for making the effort Kai we really appreciated having you here and hope to catch up real soon at some of our club days.

Now after a quick count it appears that we had approximately 150 members re-join or sign up, so that put the numbers up near last years. While we may have dropped a few members we actually signed up quite a few new ones and we would like to thank you for joining and look forward to sharing time on the water with you real soon.

How did the day unfold?

Well our volunteers and committee started arriving at around 10.30 to begin setting up for the day and quickly realized that we needed to move around to the front of the building out of the wind and into the sun. Chris and the boys from Totally Immersed Watersports and Hobie were keen to get set up early and actually beat us there, sorry about that Chris, we’ll try a bit harder next time.

The Coffee Ninja and Mick from Surefire SUP arrived pretty much at the same time and got setup in time for, well a coffee, mighty fine cappuccino too I might add. Quinny did well to get the beer on ice, on ya Quinny first things first. By now it was nearly noon and the BBQ was fired up and Mr Biggles was the man at the helm, great job on the barby Mark, you couldn’t have done it without the help of Ricko I’m sure. (Someone had to help you keep your fluids up).

The band that Loren whipped together for the day was nearly ready to crank out a few tunes and didn’t disappoint, always a pleasure mate. The boys from Natural Necessity, Mick and Forest, rocked in with a van chock a block full of SUP’s and quickly laid out a vast display of different brands of all shapes and sizes. They were also responsible for organizing our mystery guest Kai Bates. Awesome effort guys thanks a lot.
